Not all heroes wear capes, mine wears gym shorts
...he doesn't take coffee by 6, but ginger tea and herbs by 7.
Not all heroes wear capes.
Mine wears gym shorts, hits the stadium by 7:00,
He is back by 10, and drinks his ginger tea.
He's always working to make sure my “high-maintenance” bills are handled —
No complaints, just quiet hustle.
He strolls in and out of my room without knocking,
Asks the weirdest, funniest questions,
And somehow always leaves me laughing.
He’s given me a wardrobe to flex
And a sneaker collection I shamelessly steal from.
He makes sure I’m smiling —
Teaching me to find joy in the little things.
He shows me that vulnerability isn’t weakness, but power.
That honesty is strength.
That no one is better than me —
And there can only be one me.
He reminds me to put my best foot forward.
To trust in God.
To be confident, but kind.
Strong, but soft.
This superhero isn’t Superman…
But he is a super man.
He’s the man behind my complexion,
The one I got my nose from,
The reason for my hair texture,
And my merry heart.
Happy Father’s Day to every dad and father figure making an impact.
But especially — Happy Father’s Day to the one I get to call mine.
